What tools do I need to install hardwood or bamboo flooring?
This depends heavily on the type of installation you are performing. Always consult your installation instructions and attend the Floor and Decor installation classes to prepare yourself to start your project. Some common tools that are needed regardless of the type Wood or Wood look flooring installation are as follows:
- Proper Safety Equipment
- Tape Measure
- Saw (Table Saw, Miter Saw, and Jamb Saw)
- Framing Angle
- Painters Tape
- Pull Bar
- Pry Bar
- Finishing Nailer
- Rubber Mallet
- Spacers
- Moisture Meter for RH testing
- Setting Materials like Underlayment, Adhesive or Moisture Barriers
- Quarter Round or Baseboards
- Transition Moldings
- Demolition Equipment like scrapers or grinders
- Self-Leveler (most substrates are not smooth)
- Patching compounds to repair imperfections in the substrate
- Cleaning Materials for after installation
